After spending a few months there, I had become used to life in London. As my flight date approached, I found myself torn between missing the city and trying to check off everything on my to-do list before leaving. Although I didn't get to do as much as I had hoped, I still appreciate every moment of my time there. I had the opportunity to meet people whom I still consider friends to this day. I've revisited London multiple times since my study abroad experience, mainly to reconnect with friends and more. Overall, I found the experience to be incredibly rewarding.
As my flight date drew close, some friends offered me a place to stay, since I had to be out of the University accommodation by a certain date, but unfortunately, I had to return to New York. However, the day before my flight, one of my friends took me out to eat at a Korean restaurant. The food was really good, and I regretted not knowing it was close to the school until the last minute.
Despite planning not to purchase any extra items due to luggage constraints, I ended up buying new clothes and souvenirs for friends. Consequently, I ended up with multiple suitcases, but thankfully, my friends helped me carry them to the airport.
In conclusion, if you're considering studying abroad, I highly encourage you to go for it. While there are many factors to consider, such as financial constraints, there are numerous resources available to help cover expenses. I was fortunate to receive the Gilman Scholarship, along with other grants and aid, which significantly eased the financial burden. Although the process may be tedious, the experience gained from it is all worth it.
